The yellow pea-like flowers are much smaller than our other two native Baptisia species and are not produced in long, large racemes. It is typically found in sandy prairie or savanna conditions. While the flowers are not robust, it does produce a beautiful mound of foliage once mature. This is a very drought tolerant plant.
