Depending on the current environmental conditions, this plant has an aquatic and a terrestrial form. If it is above the current water line, it will grow into a 1.5ft to 3ft tall plant. If it is below water it will grow a stem up to the water's surface and produce floating leaves. Maximum water depth in which it will grow is approximately 6ft. Both forms will produce pink flowers typical of the Smartweed family.
