Listed as Endangered in Michigan. It is only known to occur in Berrien county in the lower peninsula. Flower color is from pink to white. Goes dormant soon after flowering. Native to prairies, oak savannas, open woodlands and fens. Visited by many species of bees to collect pollen. I could find no references for insect or mammalian herbivores, and I have not witnessed any either. Seed source is northern Indiana.
